Dolphins capture TCIS Tourney title; Truckers & Crabbers move on

A busy Saturday among area high schools in boys basketball. Cape Henry among the private schools and Hampton in the public schools advance in the region.

NORFOLK, Va. — It was a much anticipated Tidewater Conference of Independant Schools Tournament boys final in basketball. In what was the third matchup of the season Cape Henry came out on top of Norfolk Collegiate on Saturday 85-76 to get the sweep of the TCIS regular and tournament title. The Dolphins got 14 of Christian Moore's game high 26 points in the first half. Cape Henry improved to 22-4 while the Oaks were led by Sam Brannen with 22 points in the loss.

Among the public schools advancing were Kempsville and Bethel in Class 5, Hampton and Churchland in Class 4, Phoebus, Norcom, and Lakeland in Class 2.
