Allen Iverson has always had a special place in his heart for the 757 and in particularly the peninsula. The Basketball Hall Of Famer announcing he's holding his 4th annual High School Basketball Christmas Showcase. The former Bethel Bruin will be the official event host when the event takes place December 27th at the Hampton Coliseum.
Ten local schools from both the Southside and Peninsula will go head to head starting at 2pm with the last game at 8pm. Schedule to play will be Booker T. Washington vs. Kecoughtan (2pm), I.C. Norcom taking on Menchville (3:30pm), Churchland against Phoebus (5pm), Jamestown facing Bethel (6:30pm) and the nightcap, Lake Taylor vs. Hampton (8pm). Iverson said in a release said, "I'm looking forward to this year's showcase. Every year it's getting bigger." Tickets are $10 for the day for adults and $5 for students with an identification. They can be purchased at the Hampton Coliseum Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.
