Monarchs turning the page after upset win

NORFOLK, Va.- As they wrapped up their practice Monday afternoon, the ODU men's basketball team didn't look like a squad coming off a big upset road win over #25 Syracuse. They're actually ok with taking a subdued approach. "I know we feel good about beating Syracuse", said senior guard, B.J. Stith. They had a loftier vision. "Our original goal was to make it to the NCAA Tournament."

Old Dominion improved to 8-3 and in the process extended their win streak to six in a row. "It was good win" said head coach, Jeff Jones. "But then you've got to turn the page". The Monarchs head up the road to play the Richmond Spiders Wednesday night at 7pm. A win would make them 4-0 so far over Division I state schools. Jones reminds his players on a regular basis never to take great moments for granted. "We have to understand how hard we have to work to prepare. The thing we always say is you have to earn the right to win."
