W&M's Van Vliet gives Tribe options this season

The senior is the perfect compliment to fellow teammate and pre-season All-CAA first team player Nathan Knight.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Nathan Knight has gotten well deserved accolades for William & Mary, but his teammate, Andy Van Vliet has been the ultimate complimentary player. Van Vliet, who was a transfer from Wisconsin has fit in just right for the Tribe this season and it included a 12 point 6 rebound game in a win over Delaware this past weekend. He's loving his final season of eligibility, but is mindful of the big picture. "It's important for us to keep focusing on what's important. It's winning our conference tournament and giving our fans that enjoyment", he says.

Van Vliet has had two NCAA tournament appearances while he was with the Badgers. They went to the Sweet 16 in his junior year. "He's scary for a lot of teams", says teammate Nathan Knight. "He's 7-feet tall. Shoots the lights out and can defend at a very high level. Van Vliet wants to help take the Tribe to their ever big dance. "That's one of the things that actually attracted me to this place. Knowing and hearing that they've never been to the tournament yet and being able to make history here was something I was very interested in."
