Today's forecast looks to replicate yesterday. Increased heat and humidity help fuel afternoon/evening thunderstorms before big changes arrive for tomorrow!
To kick start the morning, mostly cloudy skies and heightened humidity levels will be around, but by early afternoon rain chances begin to spark up leading to showers and thunderstorms. Widespread warmth is expected across Hampton Roads with afternoon highs reaching the upper-70s to low-80s.
Overnight, shower chances will taper off and things will begin to cool down with the arrival of a cold front. All thanks to this movement, tomorrow will feature more sunshine and drier conditions, so say goodbye to the humidity for the rest of the weekend! The cool air trends into the beginning of the week before warmer temperatures are back by the middle of the week in the near-80°.
By Sunday, relief arrives behind a cold front! Rain chances are slim to end the month and humidity should be lower as well. The cooler air remains in place Monday before another warm up begins.
TROPICS: An area of low pressure has a moderate chance of developing into a subtropical system. This region, known as Invest 92-L, is no threat to the East Coast, but whatever is left of it could move toward regions of southeastern Canada. The Atlantic hurricane season officially begins on June 1st.
