It's official, we hit 93° Wednesday afternoon, making it the first time we've seen 90° at Norfolk International last October. And it looks like we have another round of 90s coming today.
A very similar day is on the way, and we're not just talking about temperatures. It's humid again today with a southwesterly wind. Some sunshine breaks through today. A few showers or storms may develop today. There's a level 1 risk areawide for severe weather. A few isolated storms may bring damaging wind or hail.
We see something of a cooldown Friday, with temps in the mid 80s before low 90s return Saturday. More storms develop Friday and Saturday both. True relief from the heat comes Monday.
TROPICS: Tropical Storm Cristobal made landfall Wednesday in the Mexico state of Campeche and remains over land. The storm eventually moves off land after weakening. When it moves over water again, we can expect the storm to gain some strength while moving north. This will put the U.S. Gulf Coast at risk for landfall by late weekend and early next week.
