This dangerous heat wave continues for Hampton Roads. Highs today will climb back into the mid 90s. A heat advisory is in place for our region through 7PM. Heat index values will be close to 105° this afternoon with locally higher readings possible.
With the humidity comes the threat of additional isolated afternoon thunderstorms. That threat increases a bit this evening.
Unfortunately, the dangerous heat continues Friday and through the weekend. The storm chances will go down a bit Friday, and we should be dry Saturday, but temperatures are expected to go up.
Saturday may hit 98°, and Sunday should be around 96° for the afternoon high.
Storm chances will increase Monday as cold front approaches from the northwest. The front will pass Tuesday morning bringing more storm chances, but much needed relief from the heat.
