As we approach the end of June we are about 2 weeks out from the 'hottest' time of the year here in Hampton Roads. July 8th-23rd is when our warmest average daytime highs occur and that is 88°!

We've been achieving above average temperatures for the last couple of days and today was no different. Right now our average high is 86° and this afternoon those highs climbed to around 90.

We are keeping an eye on an approaching cold front to the northwest. Not much with this front, not very potent. As it interacts with the warm, humid air in place though we will likely at least see a few isolated showers or storms pop up later this evening.

As it exits overnight our skies will clear out once again. Winds shift by tomorrow out of the north and this will give us a brief respite from the humidity. Temperatures still likely ending up above average but at least it will feel a little better outside.

Don't get used to it though! By Thursday those winds turn right back around out of the south and we are heading to 90 or hotter right into the weekend. Only rain chances come with a pop up late day storms especially this weekend, otherwise, hot and dry.
