A cold area of high pressure will still be west of our area today. So, winds will remain up a bit and out of the west at 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. It will be sunny and chilly with a high of 60. Tonight will be another cold night as the center of the high builds right over our area. Winds will be light, and the sky clear. This will allow overnight lows to fall to the low and mid 30’s across the Piedmont. Widespread frost is expected and a Freeze Warning will likely be reissued for tonight and early on Friday. The Friday morning low will be 33.
We will see sunshine with some afternoon high clouds building over the area in the afternoon and highs near 65. Low pressure will move from the Southern Plains and cross our area Saturday and Saturday night. It will bring a good rain chance during that period. The low Saturday night will be 46, with a high of 63 on Saturday. Rain is likely Saturday night and before daybreak on Sunday. Clearing will take place Sunday morning. Sunday’s high will be 70. Warmer temperatures and dry weather is expected Monday and Tuesday with highs warming well into the 70’s.
