VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating a body that was reportedly found with severe burns in Virginia Beach.
Dispatch received a call at 3:13 p.m. Saturday of a dead body in the 900 block of Nahant Court, not far from Ocean Lakes High School.
Blake Flynn tells 13NewsNow he was going to cut his neighbor's grass when he discovered the dead body in the backyard.
"I see something that looked like a mannequin - like a Halloween mannequin," said Flynn. "So I went up on it and it looked like somebody just laying there, you know, not burnt to a crisp but more like someone had been sitting in the sun for months."
Flynn said he called police, as well as his mom, who is a nurse.
"She said she was passed away and it was third degree burns," said Flynn. "So it wasn’t a good sight."
Police said they're not currently looking for any suspects, and that the cause of death is currently unknown. They provided no other details.
