Norfolk-based company creating technology that aims to get rid of the need for batteries

A few years ago, inventor Clark Boyd presented his Evercell Energy harvester at ODU. Evercell is an energy source that doesn't require a recharge. It would ultimately put batteries out of a job. The technology was recently licensed out to a company that designs self-powered quartz watches. That means it's no longer just a concept, you could be wearing a watch powered by Evercell in the next year.
