ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Elizabeth City police are working to learn more about how a man died after his body was found behind a Food Lion on Thursday.
Officers were called to 1805 Weeksville Road just after 11:15 a.m. after witnesses spotted a dead body behind the grocery store.
When they got to the scene, they found a man's body behind a dumpster. Workers noticed a man lying on the ground and not moving when they went outside behind Food Lion, so they called 911 to report it.
Police don't suspect any foul play or anything suspicious about the death.
No other details have been released at this time.
