Chesapeake firefighters put out fire in vacant home

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Firefighters in Chesapeake say they were able to quickly put out a fire in a vacant home on Tuesday afternoon.

Someone reported a call of a fire shortly before 5:30 in the 1100 block of Railroad Avenue.  Arriving crews found a working fire in a vacant house. It was brought under control at 5:39 p.m.

Nobody was hurt in the fire.  The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
