CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND, Va. — One person is dead after an early morning house fire in Accomack County on Christmas.
Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company was called to a residential fire at 4102 Channel Lane around 6:21 a.m., officials said.
Firefighters found one person dead. The victim appeared to have injuries suffered from the fire.
The body was transferred to the Virginia Medical Examiner's Office.
No other injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
Officials will release the victim's name once the family has been notified.
