Middlesex Sheriff’s Office looking for missing mother after signs of struggle at home

Terrilynn St. John was reported missing after vanishing on Tuesday morning from her home. The door to her house was open and St. John's children were left alone in the house.

MIDDLESEX, Va. (WRIC/ WVEC) — The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing mother who disappeared from her house under odd circumstances.

TerriLynn St. John, 23, was reported missing after she vanished Tuesday morning from her home. The door to her house was open, and her children were left alone inside.

TerriLynn’s cellphone was found in the bushes outside her house, and a broken necklace was found in the yard of the home.

Her family and friends passed out flyers and searched for her Wednesday in Middlesex County.

"This should be real life for everybody. Everybody has a sister. Everybody has a mother. Everybody has a child. Everybody talks to somebody one minute and the next minute they're gone and it happens every, anywhere," said her older sister, Maggie St. John.

She said TerriLynn didn't show up for work Tuesday morning, so her co-workers came to the house to check on her. That's when they realized she disappeared.

Her boyfriend, Mac Kennard, was one of the last people to see her. He said on Tuesday morning around 4:30 a.m., he woke up to go oystering. He said he kissed her goodbye, told her he loved her and left.

Around 10 a.m., Kennard got a call about her disappearance.

"I wish I could trade places with her," he said.

He and TerriLynn live together in Wake.

The mother recently moved back to Wake, Virginia where her family was originally from. TerriLynn has significant tattoos, including "R.J.M." on her right wrist, a princess crown on her left wrist, and a cross on her ring finger.

She is listed as five-feet-six-inches tall and 130 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
