HAMPTON, Va. — A deadly crash involving a dump truck shut down an intersection in Hampton Wednesday evening, authorities said.
It happened at around 3:40 p.m. when Hampton police say a dump truck and a pick-up truck collided near the intersection of West Pembroke Avenue and Aberdeen Road.
Both men traveling in the pick-up truck were pronounced dead at the scene. Robert Brooks, 89, of Newport News and Dale Blair, 61, of Hampton were identified as the men killed.
The dump truck driver is cooperating with the investigation, according to police. They did not say what, if any, injuries the driver suffered.
The intersection has since reopened. The investigation is ongoing.
