Achievable Dream Academy celebrates new high school addition at Lynnhaven

The 25,000-square-foot expansion, designed with the help of current students, will house the Lynnhaven AAD High School Program.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach City Public Schools and An Achievable Dream are expanding their partnership with a new addition at Lynnhaven Middle School. The campus is home to the Achievable Dream Academy middle and high school program. The program currently serves ninth through 11th graders. Next year, they will welcome their first senior class.

The 25,000-square-foot expansion, designed with the help of current students, will house the Lynnhaven AAD High School Program.  The expansion includes a contemporary learning environment that allows for hands-on, collaborative, and project-based learning.

The nonprofit organization aims to help all children learn and succeed, both in the classroom and in their day-to-day lives. AAD develops its curriculum on social, academic, and moral education. One of the program's goals is reaching students who may not have access to opportunities and resources due to socioeconomic or other challenges

An Achievable Dream started at Lynnhaven Middle School in 2018.  The program has grown one-grade level each year since it began. The first class of students who began the program at Lynnhaven will graduate in 2025.
