13News Now Daybreak Meteorologist Craig Moeller

Craig is thrilled to return to Hampton Roads and 13News Now Daybreak!

After working at 13News Now for 19 years, Craig headed to sister TEGNA station KSDK in St. Louis, Missouri to be the Chief Meteorologist. The chance to return to family in the town he grew up in was too good a chance for him to miss out on. But it didn't take Craig and his wife Anne long to realize that Hampton Roads had truly become a second home to Moeller family.

"We missed the people, our friends, and coworkers at 13News Now and around the 757," Craig said. The allure of the beach, Virginia's rich history, and the many great things to do around Hampton Roads didn't hurt either!

Craig knows the region, the weather, and subtle nuances that make forecasting more challenging for this area. Small changes in wind speed and direction, water temperatures in the bay, the sounds, and the ocean can lead to huge differences in the weather!

In addition to responsibilities as Daybreak Meteorologist, Craig is taking on new responsibilities as the Director of Audience Engagement. Craig works with the digital team to connect with our audience through social and digital platforms, producing a more complete and meaningful viewing experience.

13News Now Daybreak is no longer just a news show to be watched, but a program to experience, enhanced by a large community of viewers who share content and engage and interact regularly!  Craig helped launch the 13News Now Daybreakers Facebook group where he regularly answers questions, and exchanges ideas and information! There's also a 13Daybreakers group on Instagram where people can engage with the Daybreak team!

Craig is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society. He has been forecasting and broadcasting weather professionally for more than 30 years. He has extensive knowledge of tropical weather, severe weather, radar analysis, winter weather, and climate change. Craig is a four-time Emmy winner for weather coverage, reporting, and special weather producing. He is also a previous winner of "Best TV Weatherperson" by voters through Coastal Virginia Magazine.

In his spare time, Craig enjoys time with his wife and three sons, working out, surfing, kayaking, yoga, exploring the region, and hanging out with friends.

You can find Craig on through social media on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!
