Angel Tree program spreading holiday cheer across Hampton Roads

We're helping a Norfolk mom who wanted her family to have a good Christmas but ran into some tough financial times.

NORFOLK, Va. — 13News Now is teaming up with the Salvation Army once again to help spread holiday cheer to families across Hampton Roads. This time we're helping a Norfolk mom who wanted her family to have a good Christmas but ran into some tough financial times.

Through the Angel Tree campaign, the Salvation Army helps donate Christmas gifts for children in need. And 13News Now had the chance to meet some of the families behind those angels, including Amy Threlkeld.

13News Now and Apex Entertainment got together to give Amy and her kids some early Christmas presents along with a $1,500 check for some holiday fun money.

You can help other families in need have holiday fun by going to the Salvation Army's site.

You can watch the full gifting in the video player above.
