Blueberry Thrill Farm in Gibsonville

This farm is home to over 600 apple trees with 20 varieties of apples. Some fall apples available are the Daybreak Fujis, Stayman Winesaps, Grimes Goldens, Virginia Winesaps, Cameos, and Virginia Golds - all are great for eating, cooking, or ciders.

Location: 6938 Eaglesfield Road, Gibsonville, NC 27249

Open: Only Saturdays, 8 a.m. - noon. Always call to verify availability.

Other notes: The farm only accepts cash or checks.

Milestone Orchards Creek in Ramseur

Enjoy apple and pumpkin picking at this farm, or a nice hay ride with the family. The farm also has special events with live music.

Location: 506 Parks Crossroads Church Road, Ramseur, NC 27316

Open: Monday - Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Iseley Farms in Burlington

According to Iseley Farms' website, the vegetable barn is still closed, but will reopen once pumpkins are in. Be sure to call ahead to check availability. During the month of October, hay rides are available on Saturday and Sunday. Call 336-584-3323 to reserve a spot.

Open: October Pumpkin Patch hours are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Whitaker Farms in Climax

The farm offers pick-your-own pumpkins and other seasonal vegetables. You can also enjoy a nice picnic by the pond. Call 336-685-4888 for more information.

The Farm at Crossnore School & Children's Home

Previously known as The Farm at The Children's Home.

The farm offers pick-your-own pumpkins and other seasonal vegetables. You can also donate to the farm which helps provide therapeutic programs for the children of The Children's Home.
