Reaver Beach Brewing Co. shuttering Norfolk location

Despite the closure in Norfolk, the brewery says the company overall and the Virginia Beach taproom are "still going strong."
Reaver Beach Brewing Co. in Virginia Beach saw huge growth after a 2012 law allowed them to offer full servings to guests, turning their taprooms into true gathering places.

NORFOLK, Va. — Reaver Beach Brewing Co. on Monday announced its taproom in Norfolk is shuttering, citing "unforeseen challenges."

In a Facebook post, the brewing company said the Norfolk Pilot House location will permanently shut its doors at the end of March.

"Unfortunately the ever changing craft-beer market and unforeseen challenges the Norfolk location has had to face and with after much consideration and discussion, it is with heavy hearts we have decided to close Reaver’s Norfolk Pilot House. We are forever grateful for all the support from the Norfolk community,  musicians, vendors, food trucks and relationships that we have built over the last three years," the Facebook post reads.

In light of the bitter news, the brewery said it is throwing the Pilot House location one last "hoorah" on March 30, calling on customers to "join and raise a pint to all the memories we have shared over the years."

While the Norfolk location has run into some obstacles, the brewery says the company as a whole and the Virginia Beach taproom are "still going strong."

The company said its Virginia Beach location on Taylor Farm Road will continue to serve the community.
