Wendi Locatelli, mother of three young children, says the infection started around her stomach and spread throughout her body. She had her arm and legs amputated a few months ago.

People throughout the community held fundraisers to help her family -- so far, they've raised more than $150,000.

Some prosthetic legs can run up to $50,000 for each leg.

Locatelli's now learning to walk again and adjust to her new life with prosthetic legs. Once she's adjusted to her new legs, she'll be learning how to use prosthetic arms.
