AMBER Alert canceled in Virginia, 10-month-old boy found safe

SCOTT COUNTY, Va. — UPDATE: Virginia State Police canceled an AMBER Alert on Tuesday evening, hours after issuing it for a missing southwest Virginia boy.

Police said 10-month-old Cedar Samuel Griffith was found safe.  Investigators did not release any other information about the case.

Virginia State Police (VSP) is looking for a 10-month-old boy believed to have been abducted in southwest Virginia on Monday.

The law enforcement agency issued an AMBER Alert Tuesday afternoon for Cedar Samuel Griffith from Scott County, close to Virginia's state lines with Tennessee and Kentucky.

According to VSP, the abduction happened shortly after 8:15 p.m. Monday. He is believed to have been abducted by Ashley Jordan Griffith, 30.

The two may be in a blue 2005 Lexus RX330 with an unknown Tennessee temporary tag, VSP said.

Anyone with information about Griffith's location is asked to call the Scott County Sherriff’s Office at 276-386-9111 or 911.
