Elizabeth City Police respond to shots fired

On Sunday morning four suspects were arrested after multiple reports of shots fired near Forest Skipper Drive in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Elizabeth City Police responded to shots fired near the 100 block of Forest Skipper Drive in Elizabeth City, North Carolina Sunday, officials said.

Around 10:30 a.m. investigating officers discovered a residence struck by gunfire and multiple 9mm shell casings in the roadway.

Four suspects were quickly located and arrested. Two 9mm handguns were also located. No injuries were reported at the time of arrest.

All four suspects are currently in custody at the Albemarle District Jail and being charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

The Elizabeth City Police have responded to several shots fired calls within the 24 hour timeframe prior to the arrest of the four suspects which include Anthony McCoy Jr, 24, Joseph Small, 21, Javon Dashiell and Kamiri Leary, both 18. All four suspects are scheduled to appear in Pasquotank County District Court on Monday. This investigation is ongoing.
