2 charged after stabbing at Ocean View Beach Park left a man with life-threatening injuries, Norfolk police say

​Around 4:40 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to Ocean View Beach Park. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries considered life-threatening.

NORFOLK, Va. — 2 people have been arrested after police investigation of a stabbing in Norfolk's West Ocean View neighborhood late Monday afternoon.

Around 4:40 p.m. on Monday, officers say they were called to Ocean View Beach Park at 100 W Ocean View Avenue for a report of a stabbing victim. 

When they arrived, they found a 37-year-old man with life-threatening injuries and was then taken to the hospital.

After the investigation, 44-year-old Rodney Turner of Norfolk and 36-year-old Shannon Lichterman of Norfolk were both charged with malicious wounding and conspiracy. The two suspects are currently held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.

The Norfolk Police Department (NPD) was alerted to the incident near West Ocean View Avenue between 1st View Street and Duffys Lane at around 4:40 p.m.

Police did not release details on what led up to the incident.

This comes days after Norfolk police responded to two separate stabbings off North Military Highway. No arrests have been announced in either incident.
