Police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot early Wednesday morning in the Chic's Beach neighborhood of Virginia Beach.
Dispatchers got the call of a person shot at 2:01 a.m.
Officers arrived on the scene in the 2500 block of Mortons Road and found a man shot.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Meanwhile, detectives are working to piece the case together.
Police say the suspect, 25-year-old Meggan Ashley Nelson of Virginia Beach. Police said she is known to the victim. She has been taken into custody and charged with felonious assault.
No other details have been released at this time.
