NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A man is in the hospital after authorities say he was shot in Newport News Tuesday evening.
Shortly before 7 p.m., Newport News police responded to a reported shooting in the vicinity of 35th Street and Madison Avenue.
Officers found a man they say had been shot at least once. The man was brought to a hospital but is expected to survive.
No arrests were immediately made, with police saying there is no suspect information to provide at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is urged to call 757-247-2500 or leave an anonymous tip at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
An investigation is underway.
