VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — An 88-year-old man is facing a DUI charge after driving the wrong way on Interstate 264 and crashing into two other vehicles on Monday, Virginia State Police (VSP) said.

The initial investigation reveals the crash occurred when James L. Brown was heading east in the westbound lanes of the interstate near Rosemont Road. VSP said Brown, who was driving an Audi, struck a Ford transit van, and then a Nissan Sentra.

Brown and his passenger were brought to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, a spokesperson for VSP said.

Police said the other two drivers, one passenger and two dogs were not injured in the collision.
