Does it Work? Dutch Glow Amish Wood Milk

Dutch Glow Amish Wood Milk claims to remove years of wax and dirt build up from your wood furniture. So we put it to the test to find out, "Does it work?"

What is it? Dutch Glow Amish Wood Milk is a restorative polish. It's kind of like a wood cleaner that works on furniture and floors to restore the natural beauty.

What does it claim?

Who tested it? Virginia Beach resident Maggie Mulvaney asked if she could test it out for us on her 25 year old dining room table.

What Are The Instructions? To get started you first need to shake your bottle of Dutch Glow Amish Wood Milk. Then you can either apply it directly to your furniture by lightly spraying it on and then wiping with a soft cloth, or put some Dutch Glow onto a soft cloth and then use the cloth to clean and polish the item. Be sure to wipe gently until you achieve the desired result. In some cases you might have to buff the wood with a dry cloth. If your furniture has been heavily waxed or cleaned with products containing silicones then you may find that after using Dutch Glow it may have a 'milky, cloudy' look. This is caused by Dutch Glow working gently to remove the previous products and it will probably require more than one or two applications of the product to finish the job.

Did it work? Our tester originally wanted to try Dutch Glow on her dining room table. But while she thought it did a nice job cleaning that table she was really impressed with how well it worked on some of her older pieces of wood furniture. We did have some problems though with the 'sprayer' on the bottle we tested. We found ours to be defective because it didn't work. So in order to try it out our tester had to pour the Dutch Glow onto the table with a cloth and rubbed it in. Even with those few extra steps she was still very happy with the results and couldn't wait to get started trying it on all the wood products in her house.

Cost/Availability? We purchased a twelve ounce bottle of Dutch Glow Amish Wood Milk at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $9.99.

Additional Comments: Dutch Glow Amish Wood Milk can be used on any kind of finished wood furniture or fittings. But do not use it on raw or unfinished wood because the wood will simply soak up of the product. If you are unsure whether Dutch Glow will work on a piece of furniture you should first try it on a small area, preferably one that is hidden from view. Dutch Glow is not a wood refinishing product and will not strip or remove coatings.
