HAMPTON -- Hampton University confirmed that one of its students died after falling from a bridge in Richmond Friday.
Christopher A. Smith died at about 2:30 a.m.
According to WRIC, the 19-year-old from Bowie, Maryland was in a vehicle with several other people traveling east on Interstate 64.
State police say that some sort of fight happened in the car. The car stopped on the Shockoe Valley Bridge where Smith got out and fell off the bridge. He was found dead on the street below.
His death remains under investigation.
