Homeowners say human poop found in driveway at the Oceanfront

The homeowners looked on their doorbell camera, which recorded someone in the driveway while they were at a pool party.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A family said they found human waste in their driveway the morning after a busy Fourth of July holiday.

Liz McNulty told 13News Now her husband woke up to the strong stench Friday morning. At first, they assumed it was the neighbor's dog.

"And he saw what is clearly not dog poo, but human," she said. "It was very hot, very smelly and very very gross,"

McNulty's husband shoveled up the poop, but the couple wondered who did it.

They looked on their doorbell camera, which recorded someone in their driveway while they were at a pool party.

The man appears to have a towel around his neck with swim trunks.

The alleged act was not caught on camera because McNulty thinks the recording didn't start fast enough. And because the poop was found behind the car and out of view of the camera.

"This is the second person defecating on our property. We've had three people urinating on our property," McNulty said. "Our big issue is wanting to bring awareness to tourists that this is a residential neighborhood,"

Virginia Beach Police said an act like this is punished with a $250 fine.
