CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A crossing guard for Great Bridge High School was taken to the hospital after being hit on the job Monday morning.
Chesapeake Police say that it happened around 8:30 a.m. when a vehicle leaving the campus drove into the crossing guard at low speed as she began to walk across the street.
The crossing guard had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. The driver remained on the scene after the accident, and the incident is under investigation.
