NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News is hosting a holiday event that puts a hip-hop spin on a Christmas classic.
On Saturday, the Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center will host a Hip Hop Holiday Carol, a youth performance of a hip-hop style version of "A Christmas Carol," which follows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, "an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come."
There will be three concerts, the first is at 11 a.m., then 3 p.m., and the final at 5 p.m.
