NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead Saturday afternoon.
Police identified the victim as 30-year-old Wuintez Moore of the 300 block of 55th street.
The call came in around 2:04 p.m. in the 300 block 55th Street, according to dispatch, police said.
Officers found a man with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Police have detained a woman at the scene.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances of this shooting.
