NORFOLK -- A busy Norfolk intersection was blocked Wednesday as police investigated a three-vehicle crash.

It happened just after 10 a.m. at Granby Street and Willow Wood Drive.

Police say the driver of 2002 Lincoln LS ran the red light and slammed into a Chrysler Sebring that was turning left onto Willow Wood. The Lincoln then went off the road and hit a parked VW, said Cpl. Melinda Wray.

The Sebring driver taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries; the driver of the Lincoln has been charged with disregarding a red light-misdemeanor.

Two lanes northbound on Granby Street were closed so tow trucks could remove the wrecked vehicles. Police hope to reopen them around 11:30 a.m.

Cpl. Wray noted that an off-duty officer was one of several people who stopped to help at the accident scene.
