Chesapeake woman wanted in connection to deadly wrong-way Norfolk Downtown Tunnel crash in late December

A Chesapeake woman, Dominique Goodwin, was heading east in the westbound lanes when she hit an oncoming vehicle, killing that driver instantly, VSP says.

NORFOLK, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) is looking for a woman in connection to a deadly crash that happened at the very end of last year.

27-year-old Dominique Goodwin is not currently in custody but has a warrant for her arrest for felony aggravated involuntary manslaughter.

The incident she's charged in connection with happened on December 30, when a 43-year-old woman died after a head-on collision.

The crash happened around 3:15 a.m. when authorities say Goodwin of Chesapeake, was traveling east in her Volkswagen Tiguan in the westbound lanes, leading her to crash into an oncoming Chevrolet Equinox.

Several people in the Hampton Roads community are mourning the loss of 43-year-old Equinox driver, Shelby Riddick-Walker, better known as Lexus "Lex" Walker, an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

According to VSP, there have been efforts to locate and arrest Goodwin, whose last known address is in the 500 block of B Street in Chesapeake.

Anyone with information about where Goodwin is located is asked to contact VSP by calling 804-750-8788 or emailing questions@vsp.virginia.gov.
