Portsmouth police 'end search' for missing man

Investigators say they have ended the search for 68-year-old Wendell Richardson. Richardson was last seen on March 23 in the 1500 block of Crystal Lake Drive.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police say they have ended the search for a man who hasn't been seen since Saturday, March 23. Virginia State Police issued a critically missing adult alert for him a few days after he went missing.

Police said there were no further details available for why the search was ended.

Investigators were searching for 68-year-old Wendell Richardson. Richardson was last seen on the 23rd in the 1500 block of Crystal Lake Drive. 

Portsmouth police say he is a black man, 6 feet 1 inch tall, and 200 pounds. Police say he is endangered and has medical conditions that he has to take medication for. Virginia State Police say he might be wearing a purple sweatsuit and is presumed to be on foot.
