Middle School in Suffolk receives 2nd bomb threat in two days

The Suffolk Police Department and Suffolk Fire & Rescue are investigating a threat to school safety at John F. Kennedy Middle School.

SUFFOLK, Va. — A middle school in Suffolk received a bomb threat on Thursday morning.

The Suffolk Police Department and Suffolk Fire & Rescue are investigating a threat to school safety at John F. Kennedy Middle School. Around 8:45 a.m., Suffolk Police, Suffolk Fire & Rescue and the Suffolk Fire Marshal's Office responded to the scene. There are no injuries reported.

As a precautionary measure, the building was evacuated while Virginia State Police, United States Coast Guard and Portsmouth Police K9 units swept the building. Students and staff were given an all-clear to go back inside at 10:42 a.m.

This threat comes after the school received a phone call threatening to bomb and shoot on school premises only two days ago.
