Annual Boardwalk Art Show kicks off at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

The art show has paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, metalwork, and clothing, among other crafts.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting its annual boardwalk art show this weekend.

This is the 64th year MOCA has held the show at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

Virginia Beach native Reba McConnell is one of hundreds of other artists set up for the big show. She does about ten other shows a year, but she says this one is a highlight.

“First of all, Oceanfront property for the weekend!" She joked. "But just to meet people and to share my talent with them send people home with a special piece of art.”

She added: “This is one of the Premier art shows on the East Coast actually in the country and it’s an honor to be here for all of the artists."

Artists from across the country are in town to showcase their art - from as far as California.

The art show has paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, metalwork, and clothing, among other crafts.

The art show ends on Sunday.
