Bruce Smith's 'quarterback graveyard' makes a spooky return to Virginia Beach

For the third year, NFL legend and Hampton Roads native Bruce Smith is showing off his "quarterback graveyard" for Halloween.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A local NFL Hall of Famer is once again having some Halloween fun!

Bruce Smith is bringing back his spooktacular quarterback graveyard, which showcases 76 custom-made tombstones with the names of quarterbacks he sacked during his nearly 20-year professional football career.

Smith is a Norfolk native who went to Booker T. Washington High School and played college football at Virginia Tech. He then spent 19 seasons in the NFL playing for the Buffalo Bills and the then-Washington Redskins, where he holds the all-time quarterback sack record of 200!

This is the third year the sack extraordinaire has shown off his quarterback graveyard, including a display last year at Norfolk Botanical Garden.

For 2023, the Halloween display is set up on his friend's front lawn in Virginia Beach's Bay Island neighborhood. It will be up for the passersby to see until Friday, November 3.
