Eight units impacted by fire in Virginia Beach

Pembroke Town Center Apartments were affected by either fire or smoke by the time the Virginia Beach Fire Department got the fire under control Sunday

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach Fire Department confirmed they dispatched units to the Pembroke Town Center apartments at 4616 Broad Street in Virginia Beach around 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

Units arrived shortly after and the fire was marked as under control at 4:20 p.m.

Units noticed heavy flames coming from a first-floor apartment that quickly spread to the second floor.

Eight units have been affected by this fire.

No one was home or available at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported, however, one cat has been reported deceased.

A total of 13 adults, 7 children, and a dog were displaced. The Red Cross response is pending.

The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
