Salvation Army holds fundraiser to help Hampton Roads' youth music program

Join the excitement at Top Golf in Virginia Beach with the Salvation Army during a fun event. All of the proceeds raised will go to HeartStrings & Valves.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Salvation Army Kroc Center is hosting a special fundraising event for the second year in a row in which you can "Swing For Strings".

HeartStrings & Valves is a Hampton Roads Music Program for children in grades 1 through 5. Children receive "hands-on music instruction provided by qualified instructors three days a week." All students begin with the violin and can choose different instruments as they get older.

Major Chris Flanagan with the Salvation Army says the program helps strengthen their musical abilities but also prepares them for other aspects of life.

"It's about commitment. It's about respect. It's about showing that I'm dedicated and I'm committed to this particular program," he explained.

The Salvation Army is inviting the community to support this program through a fundraising event taking place on Saturday, April 20. You can enjoy golf and food with friends and colleagues while helping give children musical education.

100% of the proceeds raised will go to HeartStrings & Valves. You can go to their website to register. Join the excitement at Top Golf in Virginia Beach with Salvation Army's spectator package starting at $50, complete with complimentary food and beverages. Plus, elevate your impact by increasing your donation and unlocking exclusive benefits at every level.
