VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Less than two years after opening, a Virginia Beach microbrewery is searching for a new owner.
San Diego-based Green Flash Brewing Co. put its Virginia Beach brewery up for sale on Saturday. Auction service Heritage Global Partners has a listing for the facility on its website, advertising it as "an amazing turnkey opportunity for a 1-year-old 50 barrel brewery operation."
The Virginia Beach location has only been in operation for a little more than a year, having its grand opening back in November of 2016.
The $20 million craft brewing facility includes a 58,000-square-foot brewery, a tasting room, a beer garden, and a private event room and garden.
Craft beer news outlet The Full Pint reports Green Flash has struggled financially in recent months, reducing their workforce while reportedly trying to keep their operations afloat.
In January, Green Flash announced it was planning to focus on its distribution areas around its core facilities in California.
No official announcement has been made about the fate of the Virginia Beach location and its local Facebook page is still active.
