VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) — The first Wegmans Food Market in Hampton Roads is getting closer to opening.
The popular grocery store chain announced that hiring and training is now underway for 315 part-time positions for its new Virginia Beach location, the company said in a news release.
A grand opening date was also announced: April 28, 2019.
Wegmans is still under construction and will be located near the intersection of Virginia Beach and Independence boulevards.
Wegmans Virginia Beach will employ around 500 people total.
Part-time job openings span a variety of positions across every department in the store, including customer service and culinary roles like chefs and line cooks.
Hiring for 185 full-time jobs began earlier this year, and is ongoing for select remaining openings, such as cooks and sushi rollers.
