Woman dies after crash involving moped in Virginia Beach, police say

Virginia Beach police say they responded to a collision involving a moped in the 800 block of First Colonial Road last Wednesday morning.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A woman has died after a vehicle crash in Virginia Beach Wednesday morning, police said.

Virginia Beach police said they were dispatched for a collision involving a moped in the 800 block of First Colonial Road off of Laskin Road around 9:50 a.m. 

When officers arrived they found a critically injured patient who was taken to the hospital by Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services. The patient, 41-year-old Jennifer Albertson, succumbed to her injuries on Friday.

Police did not clarify if Albertson was the driver of the moped.

Police said two other drivers were involved in the crash. Both remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement. No charges have been filed.
