Wawa coming to Elizabeth City, other eastern North Carolina cities in 2024

KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. — The beloved gas station chain Wawa is planning a massive expansion into North Carolina, and the first eight locations will open in eastern North Carolina in 2024.

The company officially broke ground on its first North Carolina location in May, which will be located in Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks. The chain announced on Wednesday they will open stores in Elizabeth City, Greenville, Wilson, Rocky Mount and Goldsboro next year.

The openings are part of Wawa's plan to open around 80 locations throughout eastern North Carolina over the next 10 or more years.

Wawa hasn't set exact grand opening dates, but here's the full list of locations opening in 2024:

  • North Croatan Highway and West 4th Street, Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina
  • Halstead Boulevard and Route 17, Elizabeth City, North Carolina
  • Raleigh Road Parkway and Hayes Place, Wilson, North Carolina
  • Ward Road and Nash Street, Wilson, North Carolina
  • Benvenue Road and Jeffreys Road, Rocky Mount, North Carolina
  • Wayne Memorial Drive and Hospital Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina
  • Stantonsburg Road and Moye Boulevard, Greenville, North Carolina
  • US Highway 70 and NC Highway 581, Goldsboro, North Carolina
