RICHMOND, Va. — A 102-year-old Henrico County woman had the ride of a lifetime when Richmond Raceway fulfilled one of her longtime wishes.

Bindy Gralow has long dreamed of riding around a NASCAR track, and on Thursday she did just that.

Richmond Raceway took Gralow for a spin around America's Premier Short Track, a 0.75-mile, D-shaped oval track. The 102-year-old buckled up and made laps in a pace car.

“Fans like Bindy are what make Richmond Raceway such a special place for our community,” said Lori Colier Waran, President of Richmond Raceway. “We’re extremely humbled to help make her wishes come true as she fulfilled her need for speed!”

Until her sixties, Gralow worked as a travel agent. She then worked as a docent at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Gralow was raised in Edinburgh, Scotland before landing in North America. She lived in Canada for a time before moving to the United States.

Earlier this year, Richmond Raceway was announced to host two 2024 NASCAR Cup Series races. The first is set for Easter Sunday, March 31 and the other is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 11.

Tickets can be purchased on Richmond Raceway's website.
