WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (WVEC) — The early bird gets the worm or in this case may get to see a rocket launch, weather permitting.

NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, on Virginia's Eastern Shore, and Virginia's Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport are set to support the launch of Northrop Grumman's Antares rocket. The rocket, originally scheduled to launch at 4:49 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, will be carrying the company's Cygnus cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station.

Due to weather, the launch was now postponed to Friday, November 16 at 4:23 a.m.

Due to more weather issues, the launch has been delayed yet another day.

Here's to better weather and clear skies so that the launch will be visible to residents along the East Coast.

The NASA Visitor Center at Wallops is scheduled to open at 1 a.m. on the morning of the launch for public viewing. Robert Reed Park on Chincoteague Island or Beach Road spanning the area between Chincoteague and Assateague Islands will also be open for people who don't want to miss the launch.

For people who can't make it to Wallops to witness the launch, the Wallops Mission Status Center allows you to still participate in the experience. Live coverage is scheduled to begin at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16 on Wallops Ustream sites.

The Mission Status Center features information about the mission, live countdown audio, and live video of the launch. It's compatible with Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. If the visibility link is accessed on your smartphone, you can use your phone to find the viewing direction to see the rocket streak across the sky.

Any updates about the launch can be found on Wallops Facebook and Twitter sites.

Launch coverage on NASA TV will begin at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.
