VIRGINIA (WVEC) — The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is offering a free day of hiking at all Virginia State Parks on the first day of 2019!
Anyone can ring in the New Year with a special first-day hike. All 38 state parks will offer free parking all day, while the first 100 visitors to each park will receive a special bumper sticker.
There will be two contests that give visitors two opportunities to win gift certificates valued at up to $500 with a photo contest. Participants can be eligible to win prizes by simply registering, hiking and then recording the hike on Jan. 1.
