Busch Gardens delays park opening due to coronavirus

Busch Gardens Williamsburg was set to open for the season this weekend, but now will be closed through the end of the month.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Busch Gardens Williamsburg, along with all other SeaWorld-owned parks, will be closed through the end of the month, beginning March 14, due to the continuing spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The Williamsburg park had originally planned to open for the season on Sunday, March 15.

Essential personnel, including animal care experts, will continue to look after the animals in the park.

No new opening date was announced.

SeaWorld has set up a website with the latest information, and guests can also call their customer care center at 407-794-0017. 

At the time of the announced closing, Virginia had 30 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including seven in James City County.
